HAS Facebook Group now live ‒ Join today!

Thank you for your interest in the Houston Astronomical Society's Private Facebook discussion group!

This group is for members of the Houston Astronomical Society. We invite you to join us at http://www.astronomyhouston.org/join. After you join you will need to send another request to be admitted to the Facebook group.

Founded in 1955, the The Houston Astronomical Society is an active community of enthusiastic amateur and professional astronomers with over 60 years of history in the Houston area. The club meets on the first Friday of each month at the University of Houston (typically the first Friday of each month at 7pm in the Science and Research Building, Room 117).

Benefits of membership include:

    • Access to a secure dark-site observing location outside of the majority of the light pollution of Houston
    • A telescope loaner program allowing members to "check out" a telescope like one would a library book
    • Access to a small observatory on the grounds of the dark-site location
    • Membership in the Astronomical League
    • Camaraderie and fellowship with other astronomy enthusiasts
    • And more!

Joining our club is simple:

   • Sign up online at http://www.astronomyhouston.org/join
   • By mail, download the form at http://www.astronomyhouston.org/sites/default/files/downloads/HAS_Membership_Application.pdf
   • In person. Just show up to one of our regular meetings on the UH campus

Annual dues are only $36 ($12 for students)  per year and give you access to all this and more.
