Solar Eclipse 2017

Solar Eclipse 2017

We will have a rare coast to coast solar eclipse this year. It will not be total here in Texas but will be well worth the trip north to view it.
Attached is a link to an interactive Google Map of the coverage area.
Also a link for info on the Eclipse Megamovie Project sponsored by Google’s Making & Science Initiative and led by Scott McIntosh from the National Center for Atmospheric Research’s High Altitude Observatory and Hugh Hudson from the University of California at Berkeley, the Eclipse Megamovie Project seeks to recruit 1,500 observers stationed across the eclipse path from Oregon to South Carolina. Although individual observers will only experience a maximum totality length of 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the complete span of the Eclipse Megamovie will last 90 minutes, compiled using observer images from coast-to-coast.

My wife and I will be in Casper, Wyo for the eclipse. Making a 2 week camping trip of it. After a few snafu's with reservations, we finally wound up at a KOA on the outskirts of town. Will anyone else from HAS be in Casper to represent? If so, is there any thing formal the club is doing, or just various people from the club that happen to be there? I am originally from that part of the country and have some idea of what to do to kill a few days before and after the eclipse. There is an Eclipse Festival there. I am sure that could be said for every town and city along the path of totality though.
