Got up early this at 4:00am and set up in the back yard to check out the Quadrantids Meteor shower, Over a two hour period my wife and I logged 36, most were very short and many presented themselves as short flickers in the sky. There was a pretty good ground fog and viewing was limited to above about 40 degrees due to light pollution reflecting on the haze. Looking at Ursa Major Alcor was visible only about half the time so seeing was not great. All and all worth the effort though I a march towards my 36 hour total for the AL certificate. 5.5 down 30.5 to go. My goal is to wrap this up by the end of 2016.
