ESP 2020

Went last year and planning to go this year, I went to the first 5 years of this star party then had not been back till last year it is a good star party and the sky's there are nice and dark. there are more planes flying over than TSP being closer to San Antonio's flight path, I been to TSP almost every year since 1999 but ESP has the winter objects up....... Anyone else going this year the pandemic may still be going on, ESP has between 120 and 160 people they had 145 last year.

I'm researching it right now. Looks like a great event. This would be my first star party and I would love to capture some of the objects in Orion.

Its is a nice star party +or- about 120 people you have to tent camp or dry RV or stay in town 18 miles away, great views of Orion, it is dark there so things look very nice.

I concur! Deciding between OkieTex and ESP 2020. So much easier to get to ESP and I can get back home more easily if duty calls. On the other hand, Okie-Tex means I'd be incommunicado Do love observing that time of year. Maybe, just maybe, I can do both.

I'm pretty much planning on being there after checking it out. There is a good RV park in Sonora.

I can't believe you were able to get an image like that! Was that with your 16" dob?

I tried to capture Neptune...mostly a blue blob (although I was pretty stoked to have captured it at all).

Ah! I just looked for it. A hubble image. Even with hubble, it's a little fuzzy.
