Great Conjunction of 2020: Jupiter and Saturn

Event Date

It only happens once every 20 years, a great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. You especially don’t want to miss this one as Jupiter and Saturn will appear only 0.1 degrees apart from each other. They haven’t been observed that close since 1226—not a typo!

No need to wait. Track Jupiter moving closer to Saturn starting tonight. Look low to the southwest at nightfall. Here’s what Deborah Byrd at EarthSky.org says: https://tinyurl.com/y2low7x2
